Fixing throttle and joystick lag

Imagine you're driving your John Deere, and the throttle starts to lag or the joystick doesn’t respond as quickly as it should. Suddenly, tasks take way longer than they need to. I recently faced this issue too. So, where do you start? Is it calibration, wiring, sensors, hydraulics, or did I overlook something simple?

First off, check the basics, look at the connections at the joystick base and throttle sensor.
Corrosion or loose plugs are to blame for 90% of these problems.
Cleaning the contacts with electrical spray might save you a lot of hassle and money.

You might be dealing with worn-out potentiometers in the controls. They can develop dead spots or respond slowly. Also, take a look at your CAN bus for error codes, intermittent electrical problems usually show up there before a complete failure.

I’m betting it’s sensor drift or a calibration issue.
Most John Deeres have a calibration option in the menu, run it and check if that helps.
If not, test the actual sensor outputs with a multimeter to find out which sensor is malfunctioning.
