Guys

I have a LA125 JD Rider that won't start.
Problems are usually spark, or fuel when won't start, but this stumps me.
I have spark - Then tried shooting starting fluid down intake tube and that does not fire it either.
Put in a new carb on 11/24/24 last time was not running.
I had started the rider up this wknd, and backed up, then it quit bout 15 feet later.
Figured it was out of gas as it was certainly low.
Went and got 2 gallons and put it in.
Tried to start, thinking it would take a minute to refill the fuel line.
After couple tries, thought I'd just shoot in some starting fluid... still no fire either.
Tested for spark and have that for sure.
Tried more starting fluid and not even a cough...?
Looked at some YouTube vids for this same problem of, spark but won't fire.
Guy thought was his carb, & he pulled & cleaned out the bowl, and then it fired and ran.
Having hard time believing that could be it, as I bought and installed a new carb on 11/24/24.
Put it in and then it ran fine, but that's not that long ago - just a lil over 1.5 years ago.
Anybody have some ideas, or am I just back to the carb ?
LK
Thanks & best regards

If you've got spark and starting fluid won't even kick it over then you're looking at a compression problem or something blocking the cylinder. That's the next thing to check. Pull the spark plug and see if you can feel decent resistance when you turn it over by hand. On these Deeres it should be pretty stiff. Also curious about that new carb. Did you happen to get a kit in there or just swap the whole thing. Sometimes the jets are sized different than what came stock.
