Harvestlab calibrations how often and against what standards

HarvestLab calibrations can vary quite a bit in terms of frequency and the standards we use. I was chatting with a neighbor after the harvest, and it struck me that we all have our own ways of calibrating HarvestLab.

How often do you find yourself recalibrating, and what trusted reference do you rely on to ensure those numbers stay accurate?

Learned the hard way about getting caught up in strange protein numbers. Now, whenever I change crops, I recalibrate and do a spot check every week with certified lab samples. It takes some time, but it prevents arguments later when the data aligns.

We usually check once at the beginning of harvest, then keep an eye on things every few days if conditions change.
We rely on the elevator lab results as our main reference.
It's not perfect, but it's good enough to keep our decisions straightforward in the cab.

After a rough season where I blamed the monitor instead of facing reality, I recalibrate whenever there's a significant moisture swing. I use third-party lab tests and past field averages to double-check before I start trusting what the screen says.
