JD 317 and my introduction to the channel.

New to me is a 1980 John Deere 317 with a Stage 2 engine, a rototiller shaft drive off of the hydrostatic transmission, and a single hydraulic cylinder blade and deck. Purchased from an estate, still sitting on my Jeep J20....I have too many projects, including 5 IH cubs, 1 Troy-Bilt, and 1 Toro Zero Turn Timecutter, oh yes, a Farmall Cub and Farmall A. I'm retired, nearing 80 in July, and enjoy working in my shop. I took up a new hobby 4 years ago, which is a home hobby machine shop. Acquired a Logan 1920 lathe and a Burke Millrite MV. I've spent about 300 hours reading Machining course books and watching YouTube Industrial Arts Machine Shop teachers, Mr. Pete, That Lazy Machinist, and others. I can usually fix what needs repairing.
I'm a retired Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist (ASCP).
