You’ve likely come across a good number of older Deere machines still chugging along, whether it’s on a neighbor’s farm or one you remember from your childhood. Some of those classic models just keep proving their worth year after year.

If you’re thinking about picking up an older John Deere, which models do you believe are still worth the investment and effort today?

We had a neighbor with a 4020, and that thing was a tank. Easy to fix, lots of muscle it's definitely one of those old Deeres you want to hold onto.

My uncle's farm had a 4440 that did everything. It clocked tons of hours and just wouldn't quit. If I had to pick an old Deere, that'd be it.

I helped with hay on a buddy's 3020. It wasn't anything special, but it always fired up and got it done. Those mid-size oldies are good buys since they last forever.
