Value check on a well-used Deere 1025R

I could use some help with pricing. I'm checking out a John Deere 1025R that has just under 3,800 hours on it. It's spent its life working at a local cemetery, mainly using a loader and box blade for maintaining gravel paths and handling snow in the winter.

A friend of mine works there and mentioned that it's only been operated by a few crew members and has been well-maintained by the Deere dealer. As far as major repairs go, nothing significant is known, though it did get a new front axle seal last year.

This tractor comes with a 60" mid-mount mower deck and a front quick-hitch blade. The only issue is a cracked side panel from someone accidentally hitting a fence post last winter. Other than that, it's in good shape and runs well.

I'm thinking about buying it, giving it a little sprucing up, maybe some fresh paint, and then flipping it to my cousin who's already shown interest. What do you think is a fair price range for something like this in good working order?

The working hours aren't particularly low, but as long as it's been maintained properly that shouldn't be a massive issue, i hope. As for the price, considering everything you mentioned, I'm thinking about 8 to 9k, especially when you consider that you'll need to invest to fix it up and get it in as perfect shape as possible.

I would aim for roughly $9K–$12K USD about $12K–$16K CAD given its hours and condition. Good luck!

Looks like a solid 1025R with decent hours and dealer care, cracked panel is just cosmetic, I think $15K–$18K sounds fair depending on your area

To check if the price of that 1025R tractor is fair, take a look at TractorHouse, MachineFinder, and even Craigslist in your area to see what similar ones are going for. Prices can be different depending on where you live.

Don’t overpay just because it “ran fine.” Push hard. If you were me, I’d aim for $8,500 – $10,500 max, with provisions that they fix the panel, check all fluids, and let you test it under load. Anything above that is creeping into dealer territory for a much cleaner machine.
