Foam filled rotary cutter tires..worth the money?

i am looking at either a new JD or Bush hog brand 15ft rotary cutter. are the foam filled severe ag tires worth the extra, over severe ag pneumatic tires? thanks for any info. (i have had laminated tires in the past)

I think the foam filled ones are worth it. There's absolutely no way to experience a flat, unless you run over a land mine and even then the tire would probably survive. They're heavy though and there's the price, but I think the pros outweigh the cons.

For a 15 foot rotary cutter, especially for severe ag use, the foam filled tires are absolutely worth the extra money. The biggest benefit is peace of mind, you will never get a flat.
That's huge when you're in the middle of a field. They're also heavier, which can add a little more down pressure and stability to the cutter, giving you a better cut on uneven terrain. Think of it as an insurance policy against downtime

Appreciate the insight! I'm setting up a 12-foot rotary cutter for orchard cleanup, and I've been debating foam-filled tires. Do they affect ride comfort much on rough ground? Also, how's the wear over time, do they hold up as long as regular tires?

Foam filled tires are great if you want zero flats and low maintenance, but they're heavier and ride firmer but pneumatic tires are lighter and smoother but can puncture.

Good thing you considered the tires. A 15-foot cutter is a serious machine and tire issues can cause a lot of downtime and frustration.
