My old LT155 has that reverse safety feature where the PTO shuts off. I’d rather not mess with dealer prices for a bypass kit. Has anyone wired in a workaround or know which wires to bridge to keep it running while backing up?

I've seen people get around this by connecting the seat and reverse switch wires. Just be careful, there could be some safety issues.

That's a good point about safety. Also, a few models link the PTO shut-off to the ignition. Skirting that could cause error codes or mess with other safety features.

Thanks! Before I try anything, do either of you remember which wire colors were involved or how you confirmed the bypass wouldn't trip other systems?

Did a bit of digging and it seems that yellow and black wires are commonly used for the reverse switch. Just to be sure check your wiring diagram. And don’t forget, testing continuity before bridging can help you steer clear of any system faults.
