D140 fuel filter in tank?

Currently working on a D140 that I'm planning to fix and resell. Do these have an in-tank fuel filter, and if so, is it possible (or safe) to blow air back through the fuel line from the pump side to clear a possible blockage?

Yep, the D140 has an in-tank fuel filter, and it's usually fine to blow air back through the line from the pump side to clear a clog. Just pop the gas cap off first and go easy so you dont mess anything up

Yeah, its even a common quick trick but don't go overboard with pressure, low, controlled air is safest and plus if it clears and runs better afterward, you'll know the issue was upstream

If you're dealing with a suspected blockage. Blowing compressed air backward from the pump side can work, but go easy on the pressure. Too much force and you risk damaging the filter or popping a line loose. i usually disconnect the line at the tank and inspect it manually first. It saves headaches and keeps things safe.

hope it isn't algae/slime/growth in the tank like i had on my JD tractor. if so blowing will help short term. be sure you don't have an inline piece in the hose that keeps fuel from going back to tank or it will stop your air. hit me back if it is algae etc from fuel sitting too long in the tank or the tank where you fill from. its a bitch
