electric shovel attachment clearance issues

my john deere x500 came with this electric shovel attachment that helps lift and move materials around but I don't consider it as a full front-end loader tbh. so anyway I didn't expect it to be part of the package but I just decided to keep it because there might come a time that I would need it? either way I can get rid of it and get some extra cash. I just don't think it's of good clearance. literally it's so hard to drive up inclines because the clearance is so low like only 4 inches as I measured. what can I do to increase this? I saw the manual say 4-6 inches so maybe I can drive it up 2 inches just so I can avoid all the scratches from it scraping the ground every time!

maybe you should try to adjust the the lift settings to get to 6 inches and if that doesn't work youll may want to think about buying larger tires and stronger lift springs. if none of that works maybe if would be smart to sell it and get one with bigger clearance.

okay, thank you for this suggestion. I did not get anything from my research and other information from fellow people in forums, so I just didn't do anything. I'll try the larger tires.

try, but keep in mind that it's not a perfect world. Bigger tires mean more weight and the tractor will feel slower. Plus make sure not to go overboard with the size because you may have fitment issues.

those shovels really don't offer a lot of clearance,do they? You could try adjusting the mounting brackets a little to possibly gain an extra inch or two. Some people even switch to an electric lift kit for a wider range. But if it ends up being more truoble than it's worth,selling it for cash isn't a bad idea either

That low clearance with the electric shovel on your X500 is a pain!
You're right, the manual's spec is likely without the attachment. To boost it, your main options are an aftermarket lift kit or, potentially slightly taller tires.
Both can get you those crucial extra inches to stop the scraping. Definitely worth it if you plan to keep the shovel!
