John Deere 1023E vs Kubota BX for property maintenance

need to buy a tractor, but stuck between the Kubota BX2380 and the John Deere 1023E for my 1acre lot
the JD dealer is offering a great package deal with a box blade and pallet forks for $21K
I need the loader strength for driveway work and lifting heavy truck parts.
JD seems to have the edge on FEL lift capacity compared to the BX
is the 1023E good for a firsttime owner, or should I keep looking?
also, any tips on getting a DIY service kit included in the deal?

you should consider the1025R, especially if you are getting some rear implements like the box blade you ordered
besides the other amenities, the 1025R has position control on the 3PT, and the 1023E doesn't

Consider a 120R mechanical self-leveling loader for either the 1023E or 1025R. Which gives you an increase of about 200 lbs of lift to max height over the 120R standard non-self-leveling loader.



Basically with the 1025R, you get position control for the 3-point hitch as stated above and a higher rear PTO HP of 17, meaning you can run 18 PTO horsepower-rated implements without issue and even some 20 HP-rated PTO implements.



What Position Control will do for you is allow you to lower your 3-point to the exact height each time you lower it, which will come in handy grading a gravel driveway with a box scrape. With the 1023E, you are usually never able to get the 3-point hitch in the same place each and every time.

But either 1 series tractor 1023E/1025R will do the Jobs you want them to do.

just want to add that the JD 1025R has Position Control for the 3 point hitch, while the 1023E and Kubota BX use a basic up/down valve
if you’re grading a driveway with a box blade, Position Control lets you return to the exact same height every time. otherwise, you're constantly guessing.

That’s a great observation, position control really makes a difference when it comes to grading consistently. Once you get the hang of it, trying to guess just feels like moving backward.
