John Deere 2140 head bolt torque specs?

Hey guys, can anyone help with torque settings for the cylinder head bolts for John Deere 2140. I've checked through the manual I have on hand but couldn't find a clear spec listed.

Does anyone have the correct torque values or a reference I can go by?
 
I ran into the same question last year while rebuilding the head on my 1983 John Deere 2140. Ended up finding the torque spec in an old service manual, it's 140 Nm (about 103 lb-ft) for the head bolts. Did mine in three stages and followed the tightening sequence carefully. Tractor's been running smooth ever since, mostly hauling feed and doing light field work on our small farm.

Most of those older John Deeres use a torque to yield method, so the final spec is usually a turn past torque thing. I'd bet money it's something like 75 ft lbs (or 100 Nm) and then two 60∘ turns.
Check your engine serial number to be 100% sure, but that's a good place to start

hi @cloud8, the specs can vary depending on the exact engine installed in your 2140 (it uses a 4 cylinder engine, often a variant of the 4239 series).
Many older John Deere 4 cylinder diesel heads (like those in the 2040, 2240, 2030, etc.) had a final spec of around 150 ft lbs (≈203 Nm).
However, the correct procedure for these engines is almost always a multi step process (like 40 ft lbs, then 110 ft lbs, then a final angle torque).
To be 100% sure, you need to verify the engine model number (it should be on a tag on the block). Then, cross-reference that specific engine
