I've used both older and newer Deeres throughout the years, and I've noticed that they each perform a bit differently in the cold. I'm interested to hear what you all have experienced while working in winter conditions. Which models have worked best for you when the temperatures take a dive?

When I switched between a newer compact and an older 4-series for a snow removal job, I saw the same thing. The older one warmed up more slowly, but once it started, it felt more stable. However, the newer model performed much better when it came to cold starts.

Even in single-digit temps, a neighbor's newer Deere would always start up when I helped him clear his long driveway each winter. My older machine required a lot more care. Battery strength and glow plugs had a significant impact.
