You might find yourself in the field or at the shop, thinking it’s all about the tools and techniques. But sometimes it’s those little non-technical skills that can really save the day. So, what’s that one non-technical skill that you didn’t pick up from a manual but turns out to be super useful?

I'm pretty good at reading people now. I had to learn after arguing with a co-worker about kit that wasn't broken. Now, spotting the signs saves a load of hassle tools can’t sort that.

Staying organized is key. I used to just chuck stuff everywhere. Then I wasted an hour looking for a tiny bolt. Now, I label things, and life's way easier.

I'm good at thinking on my feet. One time, a hydraulic line broke in the field, and there was no manual to tell me how to fix it. I had to rig a quick fix to save the day.
