Worst winter breakdown

Picture this, you’re out in the freezing cold, and everything is going just fine until it’s not. Perhaps your tractor gave up on you, the hydraulics turned into ice, or something snapped right when you needed it the most. What’s the worst winter breakdown you’ve faced, and how did you get it sorted out?

One winter, my old tractor wouldn’t lift the blade because the hydraulics got all slushy. I had to heat it up with a torpedo heater just to clear the driveway.

A few years ago, my starter motor froze up right in the middle of clearing a storm. I had to tow the tractor to the shop and thaw it out for hours before it clicked back to life.

My worst breakdown happened when a hydraulic hose burst during a deep freeze, spraying fluid that turned to jelly instantly. I had to drag the tractor back with the ATV, replace the line in the barn, and ended up finishing the plowing after midnight.
