I cant seem to get spark to my HPX gator engine, I thought it was a wiring problem but I've checked the wiring and it seems to be completely fine, the battery seems okay too so what could be the problem

man, that's definitely annoying. If the wiring's good and the battery's solid, I'd check the spark plug first pull it out, ground it, and see if it even sparks when you crank it. If nothing, you might be dealing with a bad coil, CDI, or maybe even the stator and also try the kills switch sometimes those things mess with spark and make you chase ghosts. If you've got a multimeter, check if you're getting power where you should.

how is that possible? thinking is it the ignition coil having a problem? agree with @husbandMaterial for the most part but I also think you can check the ECU? it is highly unlikely but still it's good to check the possibility.

Alright, id just get an expert to do that, honestly I'm tired of these machines and I work two jobs, don't have the time for it
thanks for all your input though

Hey I think you can still do it. Not anything from what they mentioned is too complicated there for you to spend a lot to let an expert do it. Worst case is the CDI and ECU but pretty sure it's more on the ignition. Update us here.

Is the ground wire properly connected? I know you said you will check with a mechanic, but these really need simple tools just to troubleshoot. Or do a preliminary so you'll know what to say to the mechanic.

What about a safety switch? They're designed to prevent it from starting under certain conditions, so a fauly switch will cause this

@gifted.hands curious if you managed to solve the problem? I'm going through this thread and you already got all the info on what it could possibly be, so unless it's some a freaky natural phenomenon or your the engine is possesed.

If battery and wiring check out, the usual suspect is the ignition module/CDI box. They just quit with age. No spark anywhere, even after cranking? Yeah, I'd be leaning that way.

Yeah, CDI failure is something that happens a lot, mostly on older Gators. So, if the wiring and battery are in good shape, I'd check that next.
