Combine threshing belt slippage on john deere causes and fixes

I’ve been in the cab of my John Deere, and that threshing belt keeps slipping like it’s trying to bust a move on a dance floor.
Is it a worn belt, a tension problem, or maybe the pulleys are misbehaving?

What did you do to get yours back on track?
