Having spent years around farms and chatting on forums, I've come across some outrageous John Deere “facts” that had me laughing like crazy during a rough cold start. What's the funniest JD tractor myth that your friends still swear is 100% true?

On a cold morning with my battery barely hanging on, my neighbor insists that
Deere tractors won’t start unless you give the hood a little sweet talk first. It always makes me laugh.
There he is every winter, patting it like it’s a horse.
The machine fires up just fine, but I guess the ritual gives him a little peace of mind

One night in the shop, a buddy jokingly said that green paint really boosts horsepower. He claimed that’s why his Deere pulls harder than mine. We couldn't stop laughing for a solid ten minutes. Now, every time his tractor struggles a bit, he blames the faded paint and insists it’s time for a fresh coat, lol

During harvest season, a friend insisted that parking a Deere facing east helps it start up easier at sunrise.
I have no idea where he got that idea, but he makes a point of lining it up like that every morning.
It doesn’t really make a difference, but he’s convinced the tractor knows what’s going on.
