Making Smart Connect work in the field

Is anyone using John Deere Smart Connect? I’m really interested in hearing how it’s working out in actual conditions. Any advice or issues I should be aware of?

I've heard Smart Connect is pretty good at helping you fix problems from afar and catch issues early. Getting it all set up can be a bit of a pain, and it only works well if you've got a solid signal. I'm wondering how well it holds up for others when they're actually out in the field.

@Fieldcommander we use JDLink (the bigger system that includes the Smart Connect/Operations Center stuff) on our row crop equipment.
The connectivity is great when it works, but the biggest headache we run into is that sometimes the Bluetooth connection between the Smart Connector and the mobile app can be flaky, probably bcs I have an older phone, or sometimes the tractor is stored far from a good signal

Yeah, Bluetooth issues might pop up if your phone's software is old or if there's interference around. Also, give your Smart Connector's software a quick look, older versions can sometimes mess with pairing.
